Often patients with weight issues in PCOS are advised diet regimens which are actually impractical to implement. We have to keep in account that they may be the office going women having busy demanding schedules and will be too tired at the end of the day to be cooking food or getting the ‘ideal ‘ food to eat. Dietary advice has to be such that they are able to enjoy their food , at the same time taking the right foods so that they do not feel week or do not miss out on enjoying food.

PCOS , the diagnostic enigma
PCOSs is often missed since one makes the mistake by relying only on the irregularity of periods to presume the diagnosis. Menstrual irregularities are present only in around 25 % cases. There are two varieties, Thin PCOS and PCOS associated with severe weight gain. In the variety associated with obesity, Weight is concentrated generally between the shoulders and waist giving the patient the Apple like figure or like a cylinder. There may be associated Hirsutism or Acne like lesions. Lab Tests or Ultrasound may not always give the clue for the diagnosis.
